Cory Young Over Doubt

Cory Young released his EP, “Shadow of Doubt” in April, that name might sound familiar if you are a fan of American Idol. While watching the show you would have seen Cory Young make his way to Hollywood.

“I was super excited to see the judges,” Cory Young said. “It was awesome, I am not going to lie before I was doubting myself, but it was driving me.”

After his brother gave up the guitar is when Cory found his passion. Spending a whole summer playing and falling in love with the sound.

“My brother got a guitar for Christmas,” Cory Young said. “I never even wanted to play the guitar at all, I just didn’t have any interest in it,”

Jokingly saying that his brother will be a doctor so it all worked out.

At 15, Cory said he won a local music contest with the band, “Truth of Blues” in California. It wasn’t till he was 19 when he branched off into his solo career. While writing and producing music he was also working as a Ukulele teacher at a school to earn extra money.

Cory Young said, “I got hired at a school to teach Ukulele Lessons, I was working with people that were 30 to 40 and I was just 19,”

At one point, Cory said he had 30 students and the “Business was Booming”. Cory after American idol cut back on his lessons for students to begin his music career. Fast forward to now and Cory Young is looking to climb in the music industry.

“I would be happy writing songs for bigger artists that needed it or whatever it takes to be successful in the music industry and support a family while doing what I love,” Cory Young said. “The icing on the cake would be, having my solo career to take off and going on tour.”

With the new album “Without a Shadow of Doubt” Cory said it is about getting on the positive side of things. The first EP “Shadow of Doubt” was a venting process said, Cory.

“Just struggling, everyone goes through it and that was the story I wanted to portray in my first EP,” Cory Young said. “My next album if it goes according to plan it will be called, “Without A Shadow of Doubt” and it is going to be more uplifting.”
