The Stories of Zach Bryan's debut album, 'DeAnn'

“I was with my buddy Alba and we were sitting in a van. He looks at me and said, “Do you believe in the songs you’ve written?” said Zach Bryan.

48 hours of recording, a couple mattress on the walls, and one happy Airbnb tenant later, his debut album, ‘DeAnn’ tore through hearts.

Simply, Bryan and his guitar makes for a pure form of music. His lyrics spill out, guiding you into an emotional story of Zach Bryan’s life. The acoustic sound, complements the storytelling of his happiest and wretched moments, all merging back to the title, ‘DeAnn’ which is dedicated to his late mother.

With no experience in releasing music, pushing buttons frantically with his buddies the album only dropped through Spotify, said Bryan. This wasn’t intended and nor was the success of the music on ‘DeAnn’.

“To be honest, we thought it was going to be a huge flop,” said Bryan.

Granted the album was written in two months, each song brings a different story.

The lyrics in, ‘God Speed’ are amongst the most meaningful, said Bryan.

‘God Speed’, the story of a hopeful Bryan. Bryan said, the lyrics touch on all things throughout his life, preaching ‘Only God and my mama know what I need,’.

“I’ve been to church with my mom and things like that, I’ve been to Africa and sent postcards from places you couldn’t even believe,” said Bryan. “That song means so much to me man, cause that’s how I feel, if I am down in my deepest poor, that’s just how I feel.”

For the music, there is no website or way to find out more on Zach Bryan, but he has a few shows coming up, said Bryan. Mentioning music already written, and the works of a new EP.

“I got so many more songs that I think the world would like to hear,” said Bryan.

Breaking boundaries, Bryan found the support of others willing to push him to the next level. With praise from everyone left to right, Bryan laughs about the uncertainty. Currently serving in the Navy, people are helping him pursue his music, even his boss, said Bryan.

After all of the success of the debut album, ‘DeAnn’ what’s next for Zach Bryan you might ask.

“I guess I am gonna go to work tomorrow, 5 a.m.,” said Bryan.
